Onwards and Upwards: A 6 month update
So I figure it’s about time I updated our blog because so much has happened. After a nice not so eventful Christmas, we started the 2012 year out with full force! Wes’ semester consisted of 19 credits, 2 of his classes were night classes. I was finishing up all my requirements for graduation. I continued to work part time waitressing. It was a very long semester for both of us.
Soon after the semester was under way, we got news that my sister is pregnant with baby #2! It will be our third nephew. Due September! We can’t wait!
We also finished painting our house! We changed it from an awful yellow!
By March, I was read for a break, so some and my best girlfriends took a small, but much needed trip to Las Vegas. It was not as warm as we were hoping, but we enjoyed seeing the sights and relaxing.
We spent Easter in Vernal with my Grandparents and some family. We went 4 wheeling.
After that, it was time to buckle down and finish off the semester right. Wes had a few all nighters working on group Machinima project. Several groups worked on these projects and at the end of the semester, their projects were judged by not only the head of his colleges, but also a representative from Disney, EA video games and several other entertainment groups. Wes’ group not only won ‘Audience Choice’ but also was chosen by the judges! He won a tour to the EA facility, and not to mention, winning looks very good on a resume. I’m so proud of him. He spent almost 200 hours on this project!
I graduated from the University of Utah in Exercise & Sports Science, with an emphasis in Physiology and a minor in Chemistry. It feels good to be done.
I also quit my job to look for something in the medical field to help prepare me for PA school.
Right after gradation, my parents left for a 3 week trip to Greece and Turkey. Whiles they were away, my sister and niece flew in from Virginia to watch my other younger sister. We don’t get to see them very often, so we made the most of that.
So far summer has been fun! Lots of work and playing left to do. Things we are looking forward to this summer are my brother coming home from his mission in August, our annual Lake Powell trip, not going back to school in the fall, snow cones and last but not least…. The new Batman movie!
